Lebanese and Syrian Armenians, who have applied for citizenship of the Republic of Armenia, will have an opportunity to get their passports from RA diplomatic representations in their respective countries.

Visiting Armenia and applying to Police will not be obligatory any more. The government adopted the decision during today’s sitting, taking into consideration the necessity to organize the unimpeded repatriation of Syrian Armenians.

The issue is urgent, as thousands of Syrian Armenians have applied for RA citizenship, Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan said at the sitting
