On March 24 at 7 p.m. the Krikor and Aved Kurkcuoglu Hall in Winnetka was the venue for “Reflections of Bolis,” a unique cultural event organized by the OIA (Organization of Istanbul Armenians.) Close to two hundred people attended the event including such dignitaries as His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate of the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America and His Excellency Grigor Hovhannisian, Consul General of the Republic of Armenia in Los Angeles.
The evening’s program featured female vocalist Sybil and a screening of director Eric Nazarian’s popular film titled “Bolis.” In his remarks, Archbishop Derderian commended the event’s organizers and noted the invaluable contributions of the OIA to the cultural life of the community.
The Organization of Istanbul Armenians of Los Angeles was established in 1976 to preserve the Armenian heritage, traditions, and culture through its literature, education, sports, and other benevolent methods.
